According to D1 Baseball a familiar face is coming back to Nebraska baseball. Former NU pitching coach Rob Childress is coming back to Lincoln as the director of player development. Childress did not have his contract renewed at Texas A&M after 16 seasons as the program’s head coach. During that time after leaving Nebraska, Childress went 622-336-1, and led A&M to a pair of College World Series appearances. Prior to coaching at Texas A&M, Childress served as Nebraska’s pitching coach for eight seasons, helping the program to five NCAA Tournament appearances and three trips to the College World Series. Husker head coach Will Boldt was an assistant under Childress at A&M.
