Ainsworth- Carter Nelson one of the most highly recruited eight man football players in recent history, gave his verbal commitment to Nebraska on Wednesday. In front of a big hometown crowd, Nelson let it be known that he will sign with Nebraska as part of the 2024 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound recruit had dozens of scholarship offers from Power Five schools from across the country. Today he let it be known he will be staying home.
Nelson is widely considered a top 60 recruit nationally and is considered a top five recruit at the tight end position by most recruiting services. The four star prospect is also ranked as the top recruit in the state of Nebraska this recruiting cycle. He just took an official visit to the Cornhuskers last weekend. New head coach Matt Rhule was able win this recruiting battle against the likes of Georgia and Notre Dame who also were in the mix for Nelson’s commitment.
