The United Way of Western Nebraska’s annual Radiothon is happening now, with most of the Panhandle’s radio stations sharing the messages of the 27 Panhandle based non-profits that the United Way helps.

Executive Director Karen Benzel says all the money raised will stay local to the donor’s respective communities.

“If you’re making a donation and you’re from the Alliance community, your donation is going to go right back into Box Butte County to help those non-profit partners. Similarly, if you’re in Sidney and if you want to make a donation and give back to your community those donation to United Way go and impact those local non profits,” explains Benzel, adding its their goal to ensure donations stay in the local community.”

At the halfway point of the Radiothon, more than $4,000 had been raised for the 27 non-profits the United Way supports.

If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so until 6 p.m. by calling 633-4000 or by donating online.
