December 1st, 2022 | KNEB Staff

Normal class activity resumed at Gering Public Schools Wednesday morning around 10 a.m. following a 30 minute stretch of buildings going into SECURE status.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., all Gering Public School buildings were placed into a SECURE status while Gering Police Department investigated a report of a suspicious individual in the vicinity of Lincoln Elementary School.

SECURE status means doors are locked and business as usual is conducted inside. No one is permitted to enter or leave the schools until the SECURE status has been lifted.
