In the Class B quarterfinals on Friday night the Scottsbluff Bearcats rolled over Omaha Skutt Catholic to the tune of a 33-0 shutout win as they advance to the semifinals next Friday to play at Omaha Gross Catholic.

Scottsbluff offensively ran for 426 yards while the defense shut down the Skyhawks, holding Skutt to 179 yards of total offense.

The star of the night for the Bearcats was senior quarterback Braeden Stull, who ran for 217 yards and he scored all five touchdowns for Scottsbluff.

In the first quarter Stull had scoring runs of 74 and 9 yards. In the second quarter he scored from one yard out just before halftime. Then in the third quarter Stull tacked on two more touchdowns with runs of 17 and 16 yards.

Standout junior running back Sebastien Boyle only played one offensive snap in the first half and left with a injury and in his place it was fellow junior Frankie Trevino running with a real mean streak. Trevino, who’s an outstanding linebacker, came up big with 34 yards on five carries in place of Boyle.

Jackson Allen also was big in the run game with a total of 72 yards rushing.

Boyle came back in for the second half and ripped off 81 yards on the ground.

This Scottsbluff defense continues to be a standout unit. After winning the turnover battle tonight 3-1 they are now +14 in turnovers this season. After back to back shutouts to end the season they gave up just 14 points to Plattsmouth last week and then the shutout tonight.

The Bearcats will head east to Omaha Gross Catholic next week to face an undefeated Cougars team that dominated York tonight, winning 42-6.

There’s nothing official as of now but I would expect the game to start at either 6 pm or 7 pm CT next Friday.

The other semifinal game will feature top seed Bennington hosting five seed Waverly.
