The Post Playhouse is pleased to announce a generous $10,000 gift from the Oregon Trail Community Foundation in support of enhancing the theatrical and technical infrastructure of the Post Playhouse’s historic building located at Fort Robinson State Park. As an anchor philanthropic organization in the Panhandle, the Oregon Trail Community Foundation supports many area nonprofit organizations each year with more than $120,000 in grants awarded locally.
The Oregon Trail Community Foundation’s gift to the Post Playhouse closes the first phase of a technology enhancement campaign for the 2024 season. This more than $40,000 initiative will support the purchase of a new video editing computer, lighting, audio, and video wall equipment.
“We are pleased to award this grant to the Post Playhouse – a historic icon in Western Nebraska. Thousands of people touring the Panhandle will visit Fort Robinson, and the Post Playhouse brings something magical and quite unique to their experience,” says Cathy McDaniel, executive director of the Oregon Trail Community Foundation.
The Post Playhouse is grateful to the Oregon Trail Community Foundation, along with the Dawes County Travel Board, the Bill and Virginia Coffee Family Foundation, and Security First Bank for supporting the technology initiative. By continuing to invest in the theatre’s infrastructure, the Post Playhouse is investing in the audience experience. On average, nearly 12,000 people see a musical performance at the Post Playhouse each summer.
