Rolling Green Golf Course hosted the Morrill Boys Invite on Monday after the event was moved up a day to avoid the possibility of bad weather today and it wound up being an exciting finish as Mitchell’s Cael Peters defeated Broc Berry of Chadron in a playoff.
Heading to the 17th hole Peters trailed by two shots but Peters made a birdie while Berry would bogey and after both made par on the 18th hole they went to the playoff where Peters landed his birdie putt while Berry settled for par.
Both players shot matching 69’s for their 18 holes.
Chadron won the team title with a combined score of 312 with Hemingford finishing second at 341 and Mitchell was third.
Hemingford was led by Dax Powell, who finished in third place while posting a round of 76.
