A Scottsbluff man who earlier this year drove to the Gering jail, impersonated an officer, and subsequently got arrested will not be standing trial.

Back in January, 43-year-old Dominic Flores drove to the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center and told staff that he was a Cheyenne County officer there to transport an inmate back to Sidney.

After a brief investigation, jail staff found that to be a lie and Flores was subsequently arrested for Impersonating a Peace Officer.

Last week in court, he pled guilty to the Class 1 misdemeanor and will be back in court on May 8th for sentencing.
