Inmate Leaves work crew in Scottsbluff; Schools Go into Secure Status

UPDATE- 11:15 a.m.- Aaron Wilder Jr. Taken into Custody

The Scottsbluff Police Department has confirmed to KNEB News that an inmate left work release near the Midwest Theater and departed in an unknown direction.

The inmate has been identified as 21-year-old Aaron Wilder, Jr., is described as 5′ 8″, 165 pounds and was wearing a blue jail issued uniform.

Officers from multiple agencies are actively searching for him at this time.

Wilder is being held on a variety of misdemeanor charges and is not considered dangerous. 

Scottsbluff Public Schools are in secure status for what they describe as a “disturbance in the area.”

If you see someone in the Scottsbluff/ Gering/ Terrytown area matching the description, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
