Gordon, NE to Madison Square Garden – Conner Halverson, PBR Bull Rider on Breaking the Barrier
February 1st, 2022 | Rebel Sjeklocha

Some of Conner Halverson’s earliest memories are watching the PBR on television. These days, Halverson is living his childhood dream as a PBR bull rider.

Halverson, the 20-year-old Gordon, Nebraska native, had an impressive 2021, traveling the country and climbing on some of the rankest bulls in the industry. In May, Halverson won the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour in Sioux City, Iowa, and had success in other PBR events, propelling him to qualify for his first PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Halverson said the support he’s received from his home community has been outstanding.

“It’s really humbling to know that most everybody from back home is cheering me on,” Halverson said.

Because of his success in the Velocity Tour, Halverson was able to compete in some of the PBR’s Unleash the Beast events. These events provide ranker bulls a greater opportunity to earn points than events on the Velocity Tour.

Though some may question Halverson’s sanity for climbing on 2,000 pound bulls willingly, his primary focus is right between his ears.

“That’s what drives me the most. I know I’m not at my full potential,” said Halverson. “I have a lot more to give.”
