Drought Central important resource for Nebraska farmers as drought conditions intensify
September 24th, 2021 | Nebraska Department of Agriculture

The most recent U.S. Drought Monitor map indicates that 85% of Nebraska is experiencing some stage of drought. Severe drought conditions exist in much of the Panhandle as well as portions of southwest and far north-central regions of the state.

The Drought Central webpage, managed by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA), provides a one-stop location to find a myriad of drought-related resources. The page includes links to important federal and state agriculture drought assistance programs, educational resources, and weather and climate information. NDA created the page several years ago to make it easier for farmers, ranchers and other agriculture stakeholders to find needed information during droughts.
