A six to eight year prison sentenced handed down to a Scottsbluff man convicted on drug distribution charges.
42-year-old Richard Stands Jr. learned his fate last Thursday after he pleaded no contest to two Class 1D Felony charges of Distribution of a Controlled Substance Near a School, both of which are Class 1D Felonies.
In March, prosecutors dismissed additional charges of Robbery, Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person in exchange for his plea.
Court records show that Stands Jr. had been caught selling drugs on two occasions in 2021- once in March and again in July. The sentences will run concurrently to each other, and he did receive 325 days credit for time already served.
