A fresh review of a nearly nine-year-old double-homicide in downtown Cheyenne has led to an arrest of a suspect.
Cheyenne Police say Tuesday morning, 68-year-old Douglas Smith of McCloud, California was arrested by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office in California on a warrant alleging two counts of first degree murder.
Smith was the initial 9-1-1 caller in the shooting deaths of George Manley and Dwight Brockman at the Coin Shop.
In March of 2023, Cheyenne Police Detectives revisited the evidence, with goals of generating additional investigative recommendations and determining if newly available technologies would produce more leads to solve the case.
Smith is now awaiting extradition from California to Cheyenne.
