Three housing authorities in the Wyobraska area are among hundreds across the country receiving Housing Choice Voucher Program funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
In the Panhandle, the Scotts Bluff County Housing Authority is receiving more than $1.9 million dollars, and slightly more than $452,000 is going to the Alliance Housing Authority.
In Wyoming, the Housing Authority for the City of Cheyenne is receiving nearly $13 million.
Housing Vouchers can be used to provide families flexibility and a wider range of affordable housing options in communities with better schools, or access to jobs or other opportunities.
