Nena Mae Hardison, 61, Chesapeake, VA
October 16, 1961 - March 10, 2023

Nena Mae Hardison, 61, of Chesapeake, VA, was born in Franklin Nebraska on October 16, 1961. Nena passed away on March 10, 2023. She took great pride in being the oldest of six children.  She was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Gering High School with the class of 1979.

Nena was a collector of many things, but her favorite thing to collect was unicorns. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and hand making rugs. Her favorite season was football season, and she was a Minnesota Vikings fan, through and through. Her love for football also extended to school games as well. She always cheered on her son, Bill, during his school’s football games and would ring her cowbell for all to hear.

Nena married the love of her life, William Howard Hardison Jr., on July 28, 1984. She was a deeply proud Army spouse and supported her husband through his 20 year career in the infantry. 

Nena is survived by her devoted husband, William Howard Hardison Jr. of Virginia; children, William Howard Hardison III and Katrina Mae Hardison; mother, Roberta White of Gering , NE;  mother-in-law, Toby Young of Chesapeake, VA; siblings, Alisa Gunther, of Gering, Lisa Weborg (Troy), of Bridgeport, and Vern White, of Gering; siblings-in-law, Angel Sanders (Jim), Terry Sylvia (Frank), and David Hardison (Michelle), all of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles; and a host of friends, especially her dear friends at Jerry’s Restaurant and Lounge.

Nena was preceded in death by fathers, Fred Staker and John White and two of her sisters, Katrina White and Lita Delcamp. A celebration of Nena’s life was held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Chesapeake Chapel.

There will be a memorial service, March 27th at the Weborg 21 Centre at 10 A.M.
