Marvin Eugene Hoff beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at Banner McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 83. Marvin was born on February 20, 1941 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Alex and Mary (Rexius) Hoff, Sr. He was raised on his families’ farm in the Sunflower community in Western Nebraska and attended Sunflower School from kindergarten through 12th grade graduating with the class of 1959.

Marvin was active in school sports including basketball and football as well as exhibiting livestock in 4-H at the Scottsbluff County Fair. Marvin attended Scottsbluff Jr. College for 2 years before marrying Sondra Miller and attending the University of Denver in Colorado from which he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business in 1963. Marvin was drafted in the Army and spent 2 years stationed in Munich, Germany before returning to Colorado.

He worked in management at Neodata Services specializing in computerization of magazine subscription services and remained with the company through its transitions to A.C. Neilsen Company and EDS until his retirement. Marvin loved to fish, tie flies, hike, and climbed many of Colorado’s 14er mountain peaks. He spent his vacation time each summer camping with his family and telling his daughters bedtime stories about his beloved dog Laddie.

Marvin married Diane Larabee on June 26, 1993 at First United Methodist Church in Longmont, Colorado before later moving to Loveland, Colorado where they resided until his death. Marvin enjoyed collecting marbles, hiking, and spending time outdoors with Diane.

Marvin is survived by his wife Diane; sister Sheri and husband Albert Townsend of Buffalo, WY; sister-in-law Kay Hoff of Loveland, CO; daughters Kimberly and husband Bryon Sack of Westminster, CO and Caprice Rushing of Estes Park, CO; stepson Darin and wife Julie Larabee of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren Sariah Rushing, Acayla and husband Dawson Chung, Talisa Rushing, Auston Sack and fiance´ Raquel Ruiz, Kara and husband Levi Heaston; and step grandsons Devin Larabee and Justin Keeton.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Mary Hoff, Sr., brother and sister-in-law Alex and Jane Hoff, Jr., and brother Tom Hoff.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 1-3:00 P.M. to sign Marvin’s Book.
