Billy Dale Schleuning Jr. peacefully passed away January 16, 2022, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held January 29, 2022, at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron. There will be intimate get together in Scottsbluff at another time to reminisce and remember Billy. Memorials can be made to the family for later designation.

Billy was born in Dodge City, KS to Bill Sr. and Judy Schleuning on January 4th, 1961. His family later moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he attended Scottsbluff High School, graduating in 1979. In 1987, he married Bernice Anderson and together they welcomed two sons, Jacob and Jerrad. He enjoyed spending time with them camping and fishing. He never missed a weekend attending Jerrad’s motocross. He was his number one fan, sponsor and mechanic along with his brother Jake. Billy began his career at BNSF and later moved to UPRR where he worked until retirement. He also worked several years at Masek Golf Cars. Later in life he met and married the love of his life Rhonda Hollrah May 10, 2014. They enjoyed the outdoors, four wheeling and riding motorcycles. Billy never missed a year in Sturgis. Some of his favorite pastimes were cheering on the New England Patriots, NASCAR, eating his favorite Mexican food and spending time with his sweet puppy, Hallie Peno. Billy had a close relationship with his cousin Shannon who is also fighting cancer. They had been a greatly supportive of each other’s struggles.

His close friend Paul will be taking Billy on his last motorcycle ride into the sunset. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Billy is survived by wife, Rhonda; parents, Judy Schleuning & Bill Sr. (Sylvia) Schleuning; sons, Jacob (Amber) Schleuning & Jerrad Schleuning; step-son, Dillon McGannon; grandchildren, Bayleigh, Rylee and Dawson; Father in law, Roger Hollrah; Sister in Law, Debbie (Mike) Sheldon; Brother in law, Randy Hollrah; Uncles, Rick and Larry Schleuning; Aunt Jeanne (Ron) Shaffer; Aunt Peggy (Rick) Marshall; close cousin Shannon Elwell; special friend Paul Stroup; his dog Hallie; many other close friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Betty Schleuning, Ivan and Jane Gross; mother-in-law, Barbara Hollah; Aunts, Sonja Schleuning Barnes and Bonnie Schleuning Finney; Uncle Don Schleuning and Cousin Rebecca Dreiling.
