More than 100 high school students from across the Panhandle had the opportunity to learn more about ag-related jobs in Scottsbluff last week. The Scottsbluff-Gering Chamber AgBusiness Committee held their annual Ag Career Day at the WNCC Harms Center with the help of the UNL Panhandle Research Extension and Education, giving the students some insight into the various jobs out there tied to agriculture. UNL Ag Leadership Education’s Troy White said careers in the industry are in high demand. White says the students learn not only about specific career fields, but about the educational training needed to get a foot in the door of those careers.
