Last October, Scottsbluff community leaders broke ground for the final phase of downtown Scottsbluff’s 18th Street Plaza.
Now that there has been milder weather, crews have made significant progress on this phase; which includes a stage, additional seating, and beautification along the walkways.
On Wednesday, masons were laying the ‘Bricks for the Bluffs’ from last year’s fundraiser at the base of the stage.
Public Works Director Mark Bohl says the new stage will have power running directly to it, which will help when live bands take the stage for events such as Bands on Broadway.
Mark Chrisman Trucking of Gering was awarded the $483,000 contract for the final phase, and the project’s estimated completion date is early June.
