The WESTCO Zephyrs got a complete game performance on the mound from Oscar Felix on Tuesday night at Cleveland Field as they beat the Alliance Spartans 5-3.

The Z’s got a first inning RBI single from Blake Grasmick and in the third inning two more runs scored on a throwing error and a wild pitch. Then in the fifth inning WESTCO plated two more runs on a bloop double (poor communication in the OF) off the bat of Mical Villagrana.

Felix, though, was the driving force in the win. The righthander got the complete game victory as he struck out six while walking two and he allowed three runs.

Alliance got back to within a couple runs in the sixth with on a RBI single from Kobe Strom and a RBI groundout from Cody Galles. In the seventh inning Alliance got the leadoff runner on but Felix able to shut the door and close out the win.

One area the Zephyrs failed to capitalize was hitting with men on base as they stranded ten runners in the game.

In the juniors contest the Express beat Alliance 9-4.

WESTCO will play a JR/SR doubleheader tonight at Chadron starting at 5 pm.
