On the final day of the Class B Track and Field State Championships the Gering Bulldogs have a state champion!

Gering junior Creighton Beals won the 300 hurdles state title with a winning time of 39.10 with Bennett Turman of Skutt finishing second at 39.54.

Beals came into the state meet with the second fastest time in the state in the event and comes up big on the biggest of stages taking home a gold medal.

The top performer in the region was Sidney senior Karsyn Leeling. The Nebraska recruit won individual state titles in the long jump, high jump, and triple jump while also running on Sidney’s 400 meter relay team that finished second.
