One man is dead and another man has been arrested in shooting early Tuesday morning in Ogallala.
According to Keith County Attorney Randy Fair, Ogallala Police were called to a residence on West 6th Street for a male who had been shot and was unconscious. KNEB News learned Keith County EMS also responded around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, and Fair says on their arrival, the victim was determined to be deceased.
Fair says the investigation determined Jeremiah VanLinda had been shot by Chet Stenzel with a semi-automatic rifle.
Stenzel was taken into custody for Murder in the 2nd degree along with other charges.
The Nebraska State Patrol was called to assist with the ongoing investigation and anyone with information was asked to contact the Ogallala Police Department.
