There were no individual or team state champions for the area on Wednesday at the Class B State Golf Tournament held at the Scotts Bluff Country Club as the Norris Titans took home the team title and Skutt Catholic’s William Mullin won the individual title.

Scottsbluff finished in fifth place in the team standings and they got a pair of individual medals as senior Austin Thyne finished tied for seventh with a two day total of 153 (+9). Kaedon Patton also medaled with a solo 11th place finish posting a tournament total of 154 (+10).

Norris dominated the proceedings shooting a combined score of 598 (+22) which was good for a 29 shot win over Omaha Skutt Catholic. York was third and Mt. Michael Benedictine finished in fourth place.

The champion from Skutt, William Mullin, won the tournament in a one hole playoff over Jacob Guertz of Mt. Michael after both players finished their championship at -1 (143).

Scottsbluff’s fifth place score was 651 (+75). The Cats shot 317 in round one and backed up to a 334 for their closing round.

Gering’s only player in the tournament was Jack Maser and he shot back to back 91’s to finish in a tie for 53rd place (+38, 182).
