Scottsbluff dominant in shutout win over Gering

Scottsbluff got a Homecoming game win over Gering on Friday night, winning big over the Bulldogs by the final of 35-0, dominating in every phase of the game.

After a scoreless first quarter the Bearcats rolled up three touchdowns in the second quarter, all from quarterback Nate Kelley, who scored on runs of 24 yards, 3 yards, and then a 1 yard plunge as the Bearcats led at halftime 21-0.

In the second half Scottsbluff got a third quarter touchdown run of 8 yards from Des Smith and then a fourth quarter touchdown pass that covered 13 yards from Kelley to Braxton Burford.

Gering did close to nothing on offense, totaling just 3 first downs in the entire game with an unofficial total of around 72 yards of total offense (22 passing, 50 rushing).

Meanwhile for Scottsbluff we had, unofficially, the Bearcats for 393 yards rushing with Smith leading the way with195 yards while Kelley finished with 154 yards rushing.

Scottsbluff improved to 5-1 and they’ll head to Hastings next week while Gering dropped to 4-2 and they will host Lexington next Friday.
