A man who had overstayed his welcome as a guest at a Scottsbluff home is now Scotts Bluff County Detention Center’s newest resident.

Albert Ramirez was arrested Friday evening after police responded to a physical altercation in West 15th Street. Witnesses say that Ramirez was punching and choking the woman who’s home he had been staying at for the past few nights.

The woman also told officers she had woken up several times over the past few days to Ramirez touching her on the outside of her clothing, and now he wouldn’t leave her house.

He was arrested and is facing charges including: Assault by Strangulation; 3rd Degree Sexual Assault; Terroristic Threats; and Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

He’s being detained on an $80,000 bond and will be back in court on June 1st for his Preliminary Hearing.
