The Scottsbluff Schools Board of Education has voted to approve the addition of a girls wrestling program at Scottsbluff High School for the 2022-2023 school year.
The girls’ wrestling team will have an opportunity to attend five duals and five invites for its inaugural season not including Districts and State.
Scottsbluff Schools Superintendent, Dr. Andrew Dick, had this to say to KNEB News before the vote took place on Monday night.
Scottsbluff High School joins other area schools such as Chadron, Sidney, Ogallala, and Mitchell in offering a program for girls. Nebraska is one of 36 states that have sanctioned high school girls wrestling.
