A 51-year-old rural Scottsbluff man has been found guilty on three charges for exploiting a vulnerable elderly woman by forging names on two real estate documents and trying to sell the associated property.

Last week District Judge Leo Dobrovolny found Barry Neal guilty of charges of 2nd Degree Forgery, Attempted Theft by Taking, and Abuse of a Vulnerable adult. Court documents allege the name and signature of the victim were forged onto a 2021 quitclaim deed with Barry Neal that would transfer their joint interest in a property on Page Drive to his ex-wife Londa Neal.

Londa Neal facing similar charges this month in a Bench trial before District Judge Andrea Miller, who has not yet come back with a ruling.

Barry Neal will be sentenced on this case on November 18th, but is also facing child sex assault charges from a case filed earlier this summer.
