“Recycle Your Cycles” this Saturday at Harms Center
April 25th, 2024 | Media Release

What do you do with old cycles that don’t work or a perfectly good cycle you are not using? Bring it to the Western Nebraska Community College Harms Center Lower Bay Area – South Side on Saturday, April 27th from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This program is sponsored by Keep Scottsbluff Gering Beautiful (KSGB), Western Nebraska Bicycling Club (WNBC), and Western Nebraska Community College.

“Recycle Your Cycles” is a program designed to keep bicycles out of the landfill. The donated bicycles are
repaired and put into use in the community. The bicycles that cannot be repaired are recycled. This program provides bicycles to people in need and organizes community volunteers to work together and keep unwanted materials out of our landfill. In 2023, 46 bikes were repaired and put back into use in our community.

They also were able to keep 2,640 pounds of scrap metal and tires out of the landfill. For more information, please call Cassidy with KGSB at (308) 632-4649 or Kristin with WNBC at (308) 672-3923.
