Despite missing out on the Rocky Mountain League playoffs this year the Western Nebraska Pioneers are closing out the season in style as they won their 13th game in a row last night, winning at home over the Fort Collins Foxes, 6-2.

Ronan Hella, in his final start for the team, pitched seven innings for the win, he allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out seven and allowing five walks. Dylan Novotny and Michael Simien combined for two scoreless innings of relief.

At the plate Jackson Yeager clubbed his third home run of the year while Luke Noack and Francisco Laya each produced two hit games.

The Pioneers will play their last home game of the season tonight at Oregon Trail Park Stadium against Fort Collins with first pitch at 6:35 pm. We’ll have coverage with Jeffrey Nelson on KNEB AM 960/100.3 FM & KNEBam.com starting at 6:20.
