The Nebraska Army National Guard is holding a sendoff ceremony honoring the soldiers and families of the 1057th Military Police Company this week.
Sixty-five soldiers assigned to the 1057th Military Police Company, which is based in Chadron with detachments in Scottsbluff and Kearney, are soon departing to Fort Bliss, Texas, for several weeks of final pre-deployment training.
The group will then deploy to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, which covers much of the Middle East, for nine months.
Elected officials and senior leadership of the Nebraska National Guard will be in attendance and offering remarks during the ceremonies Friday, Oct. 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Weborg 21 Center in Gering.
