Don’t look now but the summer baseball season is starting to wind down just a little bit and there are plenty of teams in action over the next few days.
Pioneers at home
For the Western Nebraska Pioneers there’s roughly 20 games or so remaining on the schedule. After three straight off days the Pioneers are home again this weekend at Oregon Trail Park Stadium to play the Denver Cougars.
The Pioneers are currently 19-6 this season.
Games tonight and tomorrow will start at 6:35 and then on Sunday the start time listed at 4:35. The broadcasts on KNEB AM 960/100.3 FM will start at 6:20 the first two games and then at 4:20 on Sunday afternoon.
Legion JR’s postseason tournament
At the legion level it’s the postseason arriving this weekend for Class B teams. Gering B&C Steel is hosting the B7 Area Tournament at Oregon Trail Park starting today and running through Monday, if necessary.
- Friday: #1 Sidney vs. #4 Chadron, 4 pm
- Friday: #2 Alliance vs. #3 Gering, 7 pm
There will be two more games slated for tomorrow with start times of 11 am and 2 pm and then on Sunday games at noon and 3 pm. A Monday if-necessary game is TBA.
