Mainly scores, a few notes on some legion baseball with the WESTCO seniors and juniors involved in Area Tournaments, along with the Alliance juniors performing well at the Class B State Tournament.
Also, that Gering Platte Valley Companies game they added for today against the Buckley Bombers has once again been canceled and Gering will look ahead to their Area Tournament at home starting on Friday.
Class A7 Tournament at Scottsbluff
On Saturday the only game that was played was the WESTCO Zephyrs downing Grand Island U-Save, 4-3, in a game that featured a two plus hour weather delay (The first year field turf infield drainage system was outstanding in having the infield playable within minutes), and the Z’s escaping a late threat from Grand Island to advance to another elimination game on Sunday.

Class A7 Juniors Tournament at Hastings
The WESTCO Express opened with a win over Grand Island Five Points Bank on Friday, 7-6, before falling to Hastings on Saturday by the final of 6-3.
On Sunday the Express will play Grand Island Dinsdale Auto at 6 pm MT in a elimination game.
Class B Juniors State Tournament at Valley
The Alliance Spartans Juniors won their opening game over ETC-Mount Michael, 4-3. Alliance takes on West Point on Sunday night at 6 pm MT in a winners bracket game.
If Alliance wins they’ll play Monday at 6 pm, a loss and they’d slot into a elimination game on Monday at 3 pm MT.
