Kosman honored for 50 years in financial services industry

Hod Kosman recently completed 50 years of service to the banking industry and is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Platte Valley Financial Service Companies. The Kosman family banking history dates back to the early 1900s and now has 22 banking locations throughout the Nebraska Panhandle, eastern Wyoming and northern Colorado.

Kosman was recognized at the Nebraska Bankers Association 2024 Annual Convention in Omaha, Nebraska for serving in the financial services industry for 50 years.

Aside from banking, Mr. Kosman is actively involved in conservation and has lent his expertise to organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forevers, Wild Turkey Federation, and the Nature Conservancy. He was recently honored for his contributions to Business and Industry as a member of The Court of Honor at the Aksarben Ball.

Hod Kosman’s 50-year legacy in banking will continue with the fourth generation of the family, Hunter Kosman, serving as Board Vice-Chairman of Platte Valley Companies. Despite having reached such a significant milestone in his career, he continues to work full-time and is actively engaged in coaching and mentoring the next generation of leadership for the financial services industry and community banking.

Mr. Kosman recently reflected “People bank with people and I’m grateful to have spent my working career serving in an industry that focuses on creating relationships and helping others reach personal, business, and financial success. It’s humbling to realize the significant and positive impact a locally owned bank has on its community.”
