Kiwanis Christmas Tree Lot Opens Friday

The annual Kiwanis Christmas Tree lot will open this Friday at their normal location just north of the former Aulicks greenhouse on Avenue B.

Kiwanis member Jeff Reifschneider told KNEB News you can expect to pay more this year, but they will still be able to provide some great trees at as affordable price as possible. He says they encountered a pretty good price increase from their supplier, and are trying to absorb a lot of that cost. But at the end of the day, he says they are trying to raise money for kids. And you will see prices maybe $10 to $12 higher on the 6 and 7 foot Grand Firs and Fraser Firs.

Reifschneider notes that their hours have changed a bit for this year. He says like always, they will open the Friday after Thanksgiving at noon.

He says they have scaled back during the week and will open at 3 p.m. and are open until 8 p.m. On Saturdays, they will start earlier at 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

Reifschneider says they can trim the base of the tree for you, and have a limited supply of the wider stands that accommodate the larger tree bases.
