It was a history making night at Gering High School on Tuesday with Gering picking up a home doubleheader sweep over Torrington in high school basketball on Senior Night.

One of those seniors went to work and rewrote the record book. Max Greeley set a new single game scoring record for the boys program by scoring 50 points as the Bulldogs beat Torrington 82-42 to win their sixth straight game.

Greeley has been on some kind of tear of late as he was just coming off a 37 point performance against Alliance on the road last Friday. He’s in the record books now after going off on Senior Night for 50 points.

In the girls game Gering snapped that 12 game losing streak behind 14 points from senior Carleigh Pszanka in a 54-38 win over the Lady Blazers. It was Gering’s first win since December 10th.
