Gering Arbor Day Celebration Set for This Afternoon

Gering Arbor Day Celebration Set for This Afternoon
May 3rd, 2024 | Ryan Murphy

Community members are invited to join the City of Gering for an Arbor Day Celebration and tree planting, Friday, May 3 from 2:00pm – 3:15 p.m.

The City of Gering annually celebrates tree planting in the community. Trees are a valuable resource to our community as they clean our air, capture and filter rainwater, provide habitat for wildlife, shade our homes and provide overall a great quality of life for our Gering residents.

Please join the Parks, Cemetery and Tree Board along with 4th graders from Northfield Elementary School to enjoy an Arbor Day program and tree planting in the park.

Board members and students will plant trees in the west canyon so if you arrive and cannot find anyone by the foot bridge wander west through the canyon and the planting teams will be busy foresting the hillsides of Northfield Canyon.

Folks are encouraged to meet at Northfield Park and Charlie Fenster Arboretum by the waterfall and foot bridge.
