Firefighters Battling Thursday Morning House Fire West of Scottsbluff

Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire northwest of Scottsbluff Thursday morning.

Scotts Bluff Rural Fire was dispatched around 9 a.m. for an initial report of a fire in the attached garage of a home on the northeast corner of County Roads 19 and H.

KNEB News observed that portion of the structure fully involved, with smoke rolling out of the home’s front door and an attic vent on the opposite side of the house.

The Gering, Mitchell and Morrill Rural Fire Departments were called for mutual aid, and Valley Ambulance was on scene as well.

No immediate word on whether there have been any injuries, and according to preliminary radio communications, the State Fire Marshal has been requested to help determine the cause.

Original Story: First responders are on scene for a structure fire just west of Scottsbluff.

News Director Scott Miller is on scene and says Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department is on scene as the lead agency. Also on scene are Valley Ambulance and Mitchell Rural.

The Nebraska Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to investigate the cause of the fire.
