The City of Gering would like to remind residents that federal law requires municipal water suppliers to provide Annual Water Quality Reports for all utility customers and residents of Gering.  Annual Water Quality Reports have been printed in the Star-Herald the last two years; this year it will be mailed or emailed directly to customers.  The reports are also available at Gering City Hall, 1025 P Street, Gering, NE or on the City’s website at www.gering.org

It has been reported to City Officials that citizens of Gering are receiving a postcard from an independent company outside Nebraska.  The postcard states that this company will provide free water quality testing for residents of Scotts Bluff County. It also states that they recommend citizens have their water tested.  Again, the City of Gering provides this service for all Gering residents and also provides an annual report.  The City of Gering is required to test for over 100 contaminants annually.  The City’s water supply meets or exceeds all federal and state drinking water regulations.  City Administrator, Pat Heath, stated “If anyone has questions about their water quality, please call the City at 436-5096.”
