Chadron’s only cross country meet of the season will take place Friday (Sept. 13) on the Chadron State College course. Sponsored by Chadron High School, the meet is expected to once again draw many of the Panhandle’s cross country teams and individuals. A few entries from South Dakota also are anticipated. The action will begin at 10 a.m.

Sidney’s Talissa Tanquary, a senior last year, was the individual winner, about 70 seconds ahead of Taylor Harrelson, a freshman at Rapid City Christian. ‘
Led by sophomore Axton Stone and junior Nathan Seiler, who finished first and second, respectively, Gering won last year’s boys’ title with only 14 points. Paced by sophomore Trevor Zurn, who was third individually, Alliance was the second-place team with 25 points.
