The USDA has awarded a $50,000 grant to Yoder Fire Protection District to purchase a new fire truck to fight grass and wild fires.

The new truck will replace their current outdated fire truck, which will improve firefighting capabilities and ensure safety for the firefighters.

The grant was among some $222 million in community infrastructure funding awarded by the USDA in 44 states, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and Puerto Rico.

The Yoder Fire Protection District provides mutual aid to surrounding districts, which may include federal fires.
