SBPS Summer Meal Program to kick off May 31
May 24th, 2022 | Media Release

With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about keeping children eating healthy while school is out.

Beginning May 31st , the 2022 Summer Food Service Program will kick off with six Scottsbluff locations serving meals. Nutritious meals will be provided to all children 18 years of age and younger free of charge. Adults may eat for $4.50.  Snacks are provided from 9:00-9:30 a.m. at SBPS school locations, with the exception of Scottsbluff High School, for all children 18 years of age or younger.  Adults may purchase a snack for $3.55 and/or breakfast for $3.85. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.

In addition, this year there will be two mobile locations across Scottsbluff serving a sack lunch.  This will allow all children in Scottsbluff to receive meals in their elementary attendance area.  The schedule for all locations as well as the mobile units is available below.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Scottsbluff Public Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
