Morrill County Murder Suspect Back in Court This Week

The 32-year-old Broadwater man charged with murdering his father over a dispute about chores will be back in court this week.

Joseph Bennett is charged with 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred in the small Morrill County Community earlier this month.

Bennett was arraigned on the felony charges last week, and on Wednesday he’ll have his next appearence with his council from the Nebraska Commission for Public Advocacy.

During Wednesday’s hearing, the matter of bond will be discussed as well as setting a date for a preliminary hearing.
