One of the top golfers in the state has made her college choice. On Tuesday afternoon Gering senior Emily Krzyzanowski signed to attend and continue her career on the links at Valparaiso University in Indiana.

“I chose to go there because of the atmosphere. They were very welcoming, very team oriented I would say. So I think that’s what drew me to them.”

Krzyzanowski was a member of the back to back state champion Scottsbluff teams in 2019 and 2020 but she transfered over to Gering to play here senior season.

This fall for the Bulldogs, Krzyzanowski finished tied for 3rd at the Class B State Tournament at the Scotts Bluff Country Club, finishing at +10 for the championship.

Valpo is a division-one school that plays in the Missouri Valley Conference.

“It’s very exciting. I can’t wait to do what both my siblings have done (play in college), so I’m really just excited to get started at the college level.”

We’ll have more on Krzyzanowski signing with Valparaiso on Thursday’s edition of KNEB.tv Sports.
