Laura has come up through the ranks of the service unit over the years, recently earning her Educational Doctorate from the University of Nebraska. She will bring her enthusiasm, experience and vision for the future of the unit and school districts of the Panhandle schools and students. Laura is very well known and respected across the state at all levels of education. On behalf of the Board, congratulations to Dr. Laura Barrett,” shares ESU 13 Board President, Mark Sinner.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to work with the amazing staff at ESU 13 and our member districts as they meet the needs of our communities in the panhandle,” says Dr. Barrett. “In my work with ESU 13, I have had the opportunity to be in all of the school buildings in our districts. I have witnessed first-hand how fortunate we are in the panhandle to have dedicated educators, leaders and families who all want the best education for their children. I am excited to lead our team as we partner locally, regionally and state-wide to meet the needs of today’s students and innovate for the future.”
