Gering Picks Up Two Wins at Home Triangular

GERING- Hosting their home Triangular on Thursday, the Gering Bulldogs downed both Mitchell and Sidney to improve their record to 11-5 on the season.

Gering started out their day by downing the Mitchell Tigers in the first match of the day, 2-0. Sophomore Jacey Cochrane finished with 10 kills and two service aces in the match. Fellow sophomore Jaxie John and Aubrey Anderson also had two aces each in the match.

In the second match of the day the Sidney Red Raiders also picked up and win over Mitchell, 2-0.

In the final match of the night the Bulldogs picked up another win, 2-1, over Sidney. Cochran had another double-digit kill performance, this time with 19 to lead the way for Gering. John was right behind her with 12 kills of her own as well in the match. Another sophomore, Ivy Bruckner, finished with five blocks in the match also.

Gering is back in action next against Ogallala on the road on Tuesday. up next for Mitchell is the western trails conference tournament next Thursday at Kimball and Sidney will be at Scottsbluff on Tuesday.
