A benefit auction will be held on Monday, April 19, at Platte Valley Livestock in Gering.

The auction will benefit the families of Hadly McCormick and Cinch Bullock, who were killed in an accident while traveling to a college rodeo in Garden City, Kan. Hosting the event is Jerry Weeks, owner of Platte Valley Livestock.

“I knew his mom and dad forever, and he (Hadley) used to come out to our arena and rope a little and everyone liked him. He was just beginning his life and it was just a tragic accident,” said Weeks.

The auction includes a calf in a roll-over auction, along with some other auction items, such as a side of beef an antique 1965 Stetson Cowboy Hat, along with some other donated items.

Weeks says they will also be accepting cash donations. The funds raised will go to the McCormick and Bullock families to help with expenses.

Again the auction will begin at noon, Monday, April 19, at the Platte Valley Livestock building in Gering.
