Six governmental subdivisions with taxing authority in Scotts Bluff County will be taking part in Truth in Taxation joint public hearings this week.
The cities of Gering and Minatare will have representatives on hand, as will the Gering and Morrill Public Schools, and Western Nebraska Community College.
Bayard Public Schools is also on the list for Scotts Bluff County, but their representatives will appear at the Morrill County Truth in Taxation hearing this week.
Attendance of an elected representative and a designated representative is required if a taxing district’s property tax request rises by more than the “allowable growth percentage” set out in state law.
The hearing takes place at the Judy Chaloupka Theater on the WNCC Scottsbluff Campus Wednesday starting at 6:05 p.m.
