More than a thousand meals were served again during this year’s Thanksgiving in the Valley.

Starting with deliveries of 627 plates put together in the kitchen of the Guadalupe Center, a total of 1,032 servings were dished up for people throughout the valley, eclipsing last year’s final figure by about 20.

258 people dined-in during the two-hour event, with another 170 meals carried out by 1 pm.

Organizer Kendra Feather thanked the generous individuals, businesses and organizations that helped the effort through donations of money, food, refreshments, linens, plates, utensils and serving containers.

Feather also thanked the many volunteer drivers and servers, young and old, who once again donated their time to make the event a successful one.
