The latest tax receipt figures from the Nebraska Department of Revenue show a slow down in taxable sales, with net sales and use tax revenues 8.5 percent below forecast for the month of February, the second consecutive month below projections.

Interim Tax Commissioner Glen White reported that was the only category below forecast for the month, with overall net receipts coming in at $463 million, 3.8 percent above predictions.

However, fiscal year net tax receipts remain under projections, currently down point-nine (0.9) percent at $4.085 billion.

The state Economic Forecasting Advisory Board met last month, but did not alter their forecast of state tax revenue from the figures released last October.
