Sidney Man Sentenced to Prison After Vigilante YouTubers Expose Him

A 45-year-old Sidney man who gained notoriety after a group of YouTubers posed as minors and engaged him in sexual in nature conversations has been sentenced to prison.

Jamie Daniels was sentenced to 5 to 10 years on four, Class 1D Felony convictions of ‘Distribution of Sexually Explicit Conduct of a Minor’ last week in Cheyenne County District Court. District Judge Derek Weimer ordered that all four sentences are to run concurrently, but he will have to serve a mandatory minimum of five years as well as register as a sex offender.

Daniels was arrested late last year after after a vigilante group drove to Sidney from Texas to confront him , and handed over their evidence to local authorities- who began their own investigation and charged Daniels shortly thereafter.
